SIP Trunking questions, answered
Yes. Our trunks are standards-based SIP and interoperate with any SIP-capable system — FreePBX, Asterisk, FusionPBX, 3CX, Avaya, Cisco, Mitel, and Microsoft Teams Direct Routing. Our engineers provide tested configuration templates for the common platforms and will assist with cutover at no extra cost.
There is no hard ceiling. You commit to a channel count that matches your normal busy-hour traffic and we allow bursting above it so seasonal peaks never produce busy tones. Channel usage is visible live in the portal and you can raise your commitment at any time from the same screen.
Yes. We port geographic, non-geographic and toll-free numbers from any US carrier at no charge, and a dedicated porting manager runs the project end to end. Numbers stay live on your old carrier until the port completes, so there is no downtime during the switch.
Failover is automatic. You can define backup SIP endpoints at a second site, and if none respond we divert inbound calls to mobile numbers or the PSTN within a second. Failover destinations are configured per DID, so different departments can route to different fallbacks.
Every trunk runs behind IP access control lists and TLS-authenticated signalling, with real-time anomaly detection on call volume, destination and spend. Suspicious traffic triggers an alert and automatic suspension before losses accumulate. You can also set hard spend caps and block entire countries or prefixes.
You choose per-channel pricing with unlimited domestic calling, or per-minute pricing with no channel commitment. Both are billed monthly in arrears with a full CDR breakdown per trunk and per site, and there are no long-term contracts or early-termination fees.
